1. Who are Bryon and Mark?

Although Bryron and Mark are not blood brothers, they act exactly like brothers to each other. Also, both of them dont look like each other. Bryon is a big guy with dark hair and eyes. Mark is small and compact, has golden eyes, and light hair.

2. Who are the two young people Bryon meets at the hospital?

The two people Bryon meets at the hospital are Cathy, M&M's sister, and Mike Chambers. Cathy just came back from school ,and she got a job working in the hospital's snack bar. Mike Chambers is a guy who got beat up for taking a black girl back to her house.

3. What kind of relationship does Bryon have with Charlie?

Bryon and Charlie have a relationship of a good friend. Their relationship goes back to when Bryon dated Charlie sister. Charlie has Bryon's back in good and bad times. Also, Charlie lets Bryon come into his Bar.

4. What happens at the dance?

Mark and Curtis were outside the dance in the parking lot on the car ,and a stranger, that Angela hired, came up to Curtis with a glass bottle. Then Mark stepped in the middle of it telling the stanger to fight fair, and the stanger hit Mark in the side of the head with the bottle. Mark was unconscious when Bryon got to him and Mark was take to the hospital.

5. What does Bryon begin to discover in his private conversations with Mark?

Bryon begins to discover that he is wanting to mature and grow older ,but Mark wants to stay in the past as a child and be free unlike Bryon.

Charlie was shot below the eye by these two texans that Bryon and Mark beat in pool. Bryon and Mark felt like it was their fault for getting Charlie killed.

7. What do Mark and Cathy think of each other?

Mark and Cathy hate each other. Cathy thinks Mark shouldn't beat up other people. Mark thinks Cathy should stop evaluating other people.

8.What does Mark do to Angel?Why?

Mark takes Angel in the car with Bryon ,and he gets her to pass out by giving her tons of beer. Then he cuts off all of her hair and throws her in the front yard of her house. Mark did this because Angel hired the one stranger to hurt Curtis ,but the stranger hit Mark instead.

9. In chapter seven, what does Bryon begin to discover about his good friend Mark?

Bryon begins to discover that everyone wants to be friends with Mark because he is dangerous. Also, Bryon discovers that Mark doesn't think anything he is doing is wrong.

10.What happens to Bryon at Terry Jones' house? How does his attitude change?

At Terry Jones' house, Bryon gets beat up by Curly and Tim Sheperd because Bryon told them that he was the one that cut off Angela's hair. His attitude changed by telling Mark to stop fighting back against the Sheperds.

11. In chapter nine, what happens to M&M? Why does this move Bryon?

In chapter nine, Bryon finds M&M in the free-lovers' house and discovers that M&M is having visions from the LSD drug that he took.This moves Bryon because he thought M&M was a good kid and that he would never take any drug.

12. What shocking discovery does Bryon make in Mark's bedroom (chapter 10)? What does he do?

Bryon discovers pills that Mark are selling to earn money. Bryon ends up calling the police.

13. How does Bryon's relationship with his friends and his attitude toward life completely change?

Bryon's relationship with his friends changes by not having the same feelings toward Cathy as he used to, and he feels that Mark is not his best friend anymore. Bryon's attitude toward life changes by thinking that the things he used to do with Mark aren't the right things to do anymore.

14. How does Bryon feel at the end of the book?

Bryon feels like he doesn't have any answers to anything anymore ,and he wishes that he was a kid because he would have all the answers.

15. What do you think about this book and what life message does it teach?

I think that this book teaches a great life message which is that what you do in the past can always affect your future. In Mark's case he sold the drugs and ended up going to jail for manys years.
